Chief's Message

Jim Burge, Chief of Police

Welcome to the Roseburg Police Department.  I am very proud of the men and women who serve you and this community.  Your police department has a dedicated staff of 38 sworn law enforcement officers, five (5) civilian employees and a compliment of civilian volunteers who work very hard to make Roseburg safe and secure as you go about your daily lives.  We are your neighbors, friends, coaches and parents of children who go to school with your children; just like you, we have a vested interest in making this the safest, most livable community in Oregon.

We are committed to high standards, building trust and delivering an unmatched level of professional and quality service to the citizens we serve.  I encourage you to contact me if we do not meet your expectations.

As your Police Chief, I feel it is important to communicate about our efforts while encouraging you to do the same with us.  Public safety and crime prevention must be a partnership.  Our resources for preventing crime and apprehending criminals are multiplied when law enforcement and citizens work together to fight crime and solve community problems.

This web site is intended to provide our citizens and visitors with important information and promote a partnership in our public safety efforts.  Please take the time to explore this web site and learn more about your police department.

Sincerely,
Jim Burge
Chief of Police
